We continued our foray into the village of Merii-Petchii, Nuci com., Ilfov county, and stopped at the Constantin family, a family of homesteaders, who struggle to make ends meet and manage to face life’s difficulties.
The father works to financially support the family, and the mother stays at home, takes care of the three children and takes care of the whole household.
Although they don’t have much, as soon as you step through the gate of the household you can see that they are extremely hardworking people!
Impressive is the fact that they don’t complain and do everything so that they can manage with the little they have, knowing how to capitalize and find a purpose for every thing.
Unfortunately, they went through extremely difficult times when the walls of their house fell, but they did not give up.
They rebuilt the whole house, brick by brick, room by room!
The father used what little experience he has in the field of construction and rebuilt the house with his own hands!
But, as happens very often, goodwill and effort are not enough – the lack of financial resources has made it impossible to purchase the beams needed to rebuild the roof, so when it rains outside, it also rains inside their house.
Mr. Lucian is the example of the responsible and voluntary husband and father that a family needs. He loves his children more than anything and considers it his main responsibility to provide them with a safe roof over their heads and a carefree existence.
Unfortunately, even if all the financial difficulties were not enough, the parents face the greatest pain a parent can experience, the illness of his child: the middle daughter, Ana-Maria Constantin, aged 11, was diagnosed with epilepsy and also suffers from mental retardation.
Their hope lies in a treatment that the little girl is currently undergoing, and thanks to it, although in the first phase it was quite difficult for her to adapt to the school environment, she is now perfectly integrated, making significant progress in this regard.
Ștefania is the youngest of the family, she is 3 years old, and her big and touching eyes impressed us.
Roxana is 16 years old and is the eldest of the sisters, showing a maturity and responsibility that, often, even adults do not have. He helps his mother in the household, takes care of his sisters and has very good academic results.
The time spent in the modest but extremely welcoming house of the Constantin family helped us understand how much unity and love can mean in a family.
All the Constantin family (parents and children) want this Christmas is to be able to roof their house so that it won’t rain inside their house, especially now that winter is knocking at the door! For all of them it is the most wonderful gift they could receive!
Let’s help them, let’s do something for these people so they can literally have a roof over their heads!
We are fast approaching Christmas. We run after presents, after fir trees and baubles or after delicacies to enjoy at the table.
Let’s get into the spirit of this celebration of hope and savor kindness, altruism and empathy!
