She is Elena, one of the three daughters of the Anghel family, from Nuci commune, Merii-Petchii village, Ilfov county.
Elena is 6 years old and has two sisters and two brothers, and the family is expecting another little brother.
In Elena’s deep, gentle and kind gaze I could find answers to unasked questions and read unspoken wishes.
There are many and they have many shortcomings, but those in the Anghel family are happy because they have each other and support each other through hardships.
Andrei, the eldest brother, although he goes to school, is also the second man in the house, working side by side with his father in the household.
Mrs. Mariana and Mr. Gigel did not ask us for anything. They looked at us smiling, although behind their smiles you could easily see the bitterness, but they didn’t ask for anything. They are used to not being helped and having to fend for themselves…
Hardly, from the discussions we had with the little ones, I found out that they have many shortages and that they need supplies, clothing and shoes for children, food, but also a new stove, because the old one broke.
The little ones told us that they want a sandwich maker from Santa Claus, so that they can make a sandwich for their school lunch, just like the other children in the class.
We left the home of the Anghel family with the desire to help them, to be able to give them at least part of the things they lack, so that we can make their Holidays more beautiful!
Let’s help them, let’s warm their souls with rays of hope, in these cold winter days! Let’s show them that there are also good and jumpy people, who do not remain indifferent to the hardships of their neighbors!
Christmas is with and about people.
