Approximately 46% of single mothers are under 30 years old, half between 30 and 40 years old and only 11% of single mothers are divorced women . Almost a quarter , 23% of mothers under 18 years old in the European Union live in Romania .
In 2020, according to INSEE data, in Romania 16,566 young women under the age of 18 became mothers.
We know that mothers are the infallible masters of this world because they have the power to shape the characters and souls of children, because they are the ones who hold the future of all humanity in their hands – CHILDREN.
Unfortunately, many single mothers live in extremely vulnerable conditions, often the condition of being a single mother being stigmatized by society, these women ending up socially and economically disadvantaged, a fact that, implicitly, also affects the lives of their children.
Regardless of the reason why a mother has come to raise her children alone, she must be supported to such an extent that the quality of her life and that of her children is not affected.
ASSA aims to provide single mothers with financial, material and emotional support to find the necessary balance to move forward.
In 2025, we will launch “Mentoring for Rural Women”, a comprehensive program of trainings and workshops, designed to give women the opportunity to build a better future.
