See Alexandra’s Story
(3 minutes 23 seconds)
Alexandra, the miracle child who amazed us all, tells the sad story of tens of thousands of children in Romania.
Diagnosed in the womb with a serious locomotor condition (lumbar myelomeningocele and ventriculomegaly), little Alexandra received a harsh verdict from the doctors – she will never be able to walk!
However, as the parents did not stop fighting and looking for a cure for Alexandra, they reached out to therapists who, reassessing the little girl’s condition, concluded that although minimal, the chances of improving the little girl’s life do exist.
So far, although she is only 2 years old, Alexandra has undergone a major and painful operation and is undergoing therapy and recovery sessions that must be applied consistently, as her chance of ever being able to walk depends on them.
To help Alexandra walk, we have already taken the first steps: our strategic partner, KinetoBebe, has established a well-developed therapy plan.
But the hard work is just beginning - the road will be long, often difficult, so Alexandra needs the support of each of us.
You can support little Alexandra on this journey, through one-time or recurring donations to the account:
