Assa’s September activities

Dear friends and supporters,

We all know how important childhood years are in the formation and harmonious development of a person’s future. Unfortunately, for many of the vulnerable children, the joys of this stage are not crowned with smiles, but overshadowed by hardships. Our goal is clear, that of giving children a new chance to smile. Here’s how…

Campaigns carried out

At the beginning of September we mark the end of the “First time at school” campaign, a project through which we managed to support 105 vulnerable children from the communities of Periș and Nuci (Ilfov county), Uda-Clocociov (Teleorman county) and Topraisar, Siliștea and Medgidia (Constanța county ) with a brand new, fully equipped schoolbag each.

Conferences

On September 17, 2024, we started the anti-bullying conferences, the participants of the event being represented by Amazon Development Center Romania employees who are parents and who wanted to find out how they can best manage the possible unfortunate situations, in which their own children are subjected to mental harassment .

The result was wonderful – 20 parents listened with great interest to the life stories and precious advice of our guests: Laura Eremia, Marcela Ursu, Delia Rus and Psychologist Sofia Mihalache.

Social Educational Events

2nd Life Toy Fair

On September 22, we participated in the “2nd Life” Toy Fair – organized by the GreenRevolution Association in Herăstrău Park, at Roaba de Cultura.

At the ASSA stand, children were entertained for minutes in a story frame created by The Magic Sleepover RO and were able to make their most original face paintings.

ASSA Ping-Pong Camp, edition I – 2024-2025

Between September 27-29, 2024, the ASSA Foundation started the first ASSA Ping-Pong Camp, stage 1, 2024. The beneficiary community was represented by 15 children from the Unirea Secondary School, Braniștea commune, Galați county.

During the camp, the children took part in several educational and recreational activities (filming workshops, face painting, themed parties, visits to museums), but also a day dedicated to the Ping-Pong Championship.

The first part of the Ping-Pong Championship was dedicated to learning and training. With the help of great players and champions, the children learned how to play, what are the rules of the game and the values ​​of the competition (fair-play, respect, perseverance). The actual competition followed, consisting of the qualification stage, the semi-finals and the final. Throughout the game, the umpires kept score and ensured that the competition was conducted in a spirit of fair play. After the final games, the awards ceremony was also organized, where medals, trophies and other symbolic prizes were awarded. First, second and third place advanced to the final stage of the competition, held during July 2025, where the winners of the first stage will compete for the grand prize.
